Do you find other teachers look down on you teaching kids about trade work?

I almost went into machining as an apprentice after school but instead went into a more mechanical trade. I was a pretty smart kid and teachers used to tell me all the time that I was making a mistake going into a trade and that id never have money and was too smart for that type of career This was in the UK and not the US though. Do you have those problems?

That's pretty fantastic tbh. When I was at school only my career advisor supported me moving into a trade and I had no help from teachers as they thought good grades = office job. No regards to people's personalities, through my own experience I covered an office job for a few months in my company when the previous person in the position left and just in those few months I knew if I had followed teachers advice I would've hated my career choice.
