Did you not realize it would be cold and dark there in winter? Are the summers much better (when it is light all of the time?)

Yes - I continue to believe that they have managed to hold things together..would be neat to see them in their 50s/60s. The children would be grown up now as well, so they are back on their own...riding a train in Austria?

The Crane is pretty fancy - nice! We were in Barbados in January this year (before everything went down) and stayed in a cheap place, and really enjoyed it. Great weather, beaches and people were super friendly. Do get out of the resort and travel around the island a bit - try taking the buses (3.50 Barbados$ a ticket as far as they go) and enjoy being in a tight crowd.

Also the wallets and exchanges losing (stealing) peoples savings..
