The most popular and respected analysts and handicappers were grotesquely wrong about the 2016 presidential election. What went wrong with those predictions and what changes, if any, have been made to methods used for analyzing future elections?

We (society) agree that minors aren't mature enough to: smoke, drink, vote, join the military, enter into legally binding contracts, or even be responsible for their own actions in many circumstances. So, when an adult and a minor engage each other under undisclosed or false pretenses who should be the responsible party making sure the interaction is legal? I think that is the heart of the matter. It's depressing to hear your sad tale because I think a lot of guys have done (or would have done) the exact same thing if they were in your shoes...but gotten away with it instead... and just been luckily ignorant of the bullet they just dodged.

I would ask these questions:

  1. Do you think 'statutory rape' (which I believe to be the legally accepted term to describe it) should be considered a crime?

  2. Who should be the legally responsible party (if any) in cases like yours?

  3. Do you have any advice you think would be useful to young men in that risky age groupe btwn 18 and 21?

  4. If you could change the law to make it more fair, how would you change it?

So what about going forward then? Are analysts just throwing out 2016 as an anomaly and going on as if it never happened or have there been adjustments to the models analysts use to make predictions better match reality?

When walking such great distances, what were the most common routes you traveled? Did you walk along the sides of highways, or did you stay off highways and walk other routes? What aids did you use for navigation?

I would also love to hear an itimized list of everything you kept in your backpack and how that differed by the end from what you started with. (Ie: what you first thought would be important vs what you eventually learned was important)

What technology/communications devices did you have (if any) and how did you keep them charged and connected and backed up?
