Thank you, I recently lost a dear family member to a herion overdose. It's comforting to know that they weren't aware or in pain.

Is overdosing as quickly as they show it in media? Can a person OD with the needle still in them or is there generally a bit of time before a person overdoses? If someone overdoses on herion and doesn't make it, is their death quick? Is overdosing painless or the person? Are they aware they've overdosed?
