I think a lot of people start businesses while employed. OP quit his job after making the product. You work and build the business until you have enough saved where you can not get a paycheck for a while and have a projected date of when you think you will be able to pay yourself. Or you quit when it can pay you enough to live, if it isn't too time consuming.

I'm not trying to argue, but how do you know? I'm assuming by your comment you were a kid in the 90's and grew up watching those shows. Since you aren't a kid anymore, how can you definitively say what truly speaks to kids now? Someone in that age group now might think the same thing about some show now, and people who are older may feel the same about some other show. I think Nick did a great job at the time, but I wouldn't discount what they and other networks have done since because I'm not the target anymore.
