What's worse (and I'm not hating the OP for this, its not his fault) - he makes likely five times what all the supporting staff in parts and service make at that dealership.

I got hired at a dealership in service a couple years ago. They managed to go through four service advisors in a year. Why? They were hiring people with no experience in the job, the industry, or in cars in general. Why? Because they would work for under $20 an hour.

I was working in parts and doing pretty well I thought, when I get called into the Ops Managers office one Friday, and let go. He felt the department was overstaffed. That was debatable, and I thought it was kind of a dumb decision by them, as I was one of the only people cross trained in parts and service.

Less than a month later one of the Service Advisors quit. They were already short handed before that. I knew all this because my brother in law is the head mechanic. They had him working behind the service counter for three hours a day for a month, to cover. So they were paying him more than double what the role paid to cover the shortage, when they could have easily had me fill in had I still been there.

That Ops Manager was let go this fall. It kind of made me happy.

I've played around with some of the cloning software out there. It's impressive and easy. I could make a credible cloning of your voice based on less than two minutes of recorded audio, and it would take me about five minutes.

He's a sales manager. There's a difference.

Sales is not for everyone. I tried it for a few years. I was decent at it, had middling sales numbers and very low return numbers, because I sold clients what they needed. My sales manager hated me.

Your job is to sell the customer everything, and then more.

Its high pressure, commission based, and very up and down. I know car salesmen - I worked at a dealership last year - half of them got laid off when the interest rates went up. I've known dozens of salesmen over the years in my various jobs. Half of them have coke habits - not because they can afford it or enjoy it, but because they feel they need it to stay competitive.

Its good money, but I don't think its worth it.

I think the biggest question I have is this: What is the overall sentiment towards this war in Russia? Is there any possibility of the Russian people bringing an end to this themselves?

It's a reference to older soaps containing lye - which will definitely ruin your seasoning. If its properly seasoned, modern dish soap won't hurt it. I still usually only scrape and wipe, but it's fine to suds up as needed.
