Citing the most well known example doesn't mean there aren't more recent ones.

The problem of women/young scholars/minorities being underrepresented and under-recognized exists in pretty much every academic discipline.

I'm not really a fan of how the OPs are responding to these questions since it definitely tends to alienate males and give the anti-SJW types plenty of material to shit on.

As a male in academia (Poli sci/IR) I don't necessarily think my female colleagues/mentors/former classmates are more clever/creative than men. I don't necessarily think they have a different perspective based on their gender either - after all, we studied the same material.

But what I have seen firsthand is that women can face obstacles that men don't face. Their expertise is challenged more often, people don't take them as seriously, their research is underappreciated, etc.

IMO, promoting equality should be about breaking down these barriers rather than arguing about how women are somehow unique. I don't think anyone would be against that.
