What about Cryptonomicon or Snow Crash?

Do you foresee bitcoin or some single cryptocurrency becoming the Internet Reserve Currency to all other digital currencies?

Or what are the chances of a (extremely smart, so assume they don't make a dead in the water mistake) big central player coming in and somehow gaining a lot of trust with their digital currency (with some unique feature... or at least setting a floor value to the currency)?
