On his website it says it costs $10 to send a postcard. Most conventional postcards cost less than $1 and could be only 35c for a stamp, if using a postcard stamp (if, not 55c). So, you could just use Postcrossing and send a postcard for under $2 or even under $1 of costs.

But see, I'm still torn!

Postcrossing made a post about the safety of sending mail during the pandemic.

I'm a Postcrossing member, but so far I haven't been sending postcards during the outbreak out of an abundance of caution.

Here's an answer for you in case you don't get another one, I posted this in another comment:

No matter what my rational mind was telling me, it didn't change how my body and emotions reacted. What I suggest is helping yourself the way you might help your friend or family member, if they were really down and feeling helpless. To respond to your emotions and reactions as not something that you need to attack, but with curiosity about why we do xyz and less judgment. These are some of the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy, which I suggest looking into if traditional CBT methods don't work for you.

There are a lot of limitations on the traditional therapy model and it isn't for everyone.

Yeah, I kept trying with the CBT model of "replacing thoughts" and it didn't happen. No matter what my rational mind was telling me, it didn't change how my body and emotions reacted.
