I wish Christmas was like this now. I work at a store and I see people spend so much money, worry so much about gifts, spend money they don't have..it's depressing! We are so caught up on the material things that we forgot how to enjoy it.

Lucky! I've been on several different BCs (shot, iud, nexplanon) all with their own craptastic side effects. the side effects can be depressing. :(

The key is to pick hostels that are affordable yet have good ratings, not just the cheapest bed you can find. Bed bugs are easy to avoid, and some people travel with something they can put in between themselves and the bed (an extra blanket, sleeping bag), but I've heard they are hard to get rid of, so I'm guessing if you're in a room with bedbugs, an extra blanket can only help so much.

There are tons of blogs/resources out there with this kind of info, if someone truly wanted to research this stuff, there is no problem finding this stuff on the internet. That's not what an AMA is about.
