Please let us know when you do. There is no way in HELL I'll be visiting your site for one second if you're fingerprinting visitors. That would be bad enough if you sold herbal supplements or something - but you're providing porn. To think that ID'ing your customers in any way is OK is just such a grievous mistake...quite frankly I have a hard time swallowing that you were unaware of it.

As a fellow business owner, this is SOLID advice. There are so many things that people who want to start a business bog themselves down with, and all it does is delay the start of you making money. If you aren't actually running your business, you aren't making any money. You do NOT need an LLC or an S-Corp right now. You don't need the name of the business set in stone. You don't need to hire a CPA yet. You don't need the website looking just perfect. You don't need a separate business account or a credit card or a business license...ALL of that stuff can happen organically as you go. Take that first client, make that first sale, sign that first contract. Just START.

Is it necessary in either of those situations, though? You're saying you only use browser fingerprinting to identify a user when (1) the site crops photos uploaded by the user. So...when users submit graphic photos of themselves, for example, your site is identifying them. That's NOT great. Also, not sure why it would be necessary to use this technique when pausing a gif. The simple act of pausing the gif is what saves the CPU from having to render it.

EDIT: You also add the caveat "at the management level" when you say you don't intend to track users. What about at the development level? Who DOES have the ability to track your users? This is serious, and you need to FULLY deal with it right now.

I understand that responses to the census are required by law, but is it really necessary to print it so aggressively on the outside of the letters? It's blatantly threatening. Doesn't make me want to do my Civic duty - it makes me want to wipe my ass with your threatening letters and make you go through the hassle of sending someone out to my house to count me.
