“Heavy users who are taxing their system”

You realize this is a public safety agency trying to do their jobs in the midst of a crisis, right?

My question exactly. It’s extremely important for first responders to have the access they need but I’m afraid that if anything, legislation addressing this will be limited in scope to ONLY emergency personnel and public safety agencies. I’ve contacted my congresscritters (Republicans) multiple times and they always side with the telecom companies :(

Are you (or your company) getting calls from government agencies and other organizations that need help getting in compliance with Section 508? One of the major issues with this new federal law is videos posted online without captions. I’ve read about universities deleting thousands of videos rather than retroactively add captions, but from your post above it seems like you could be a huge help to organizations that are trying to meet the new accessibility requirements.

Dan, will regular people lose money in their 401(k)s because of this? I’m watching everything unfold in real time and cheering for the little guys to win. At the same time I know the billionaire class won’t just take a beating. They’ll try to recoup losses somehow. Could our retirement investments suffer?

(Clearly this is not my area of expertise so apologies if this is a stupid question)

I get why it’s in place. People with disabilities need full access to online content. But it’s very cumbersome to go back and retroactively make your website handicap accessible. OP is right about the need for grants, but as far as I can tell this is another unfunded mandate.
