Similar story about the last time I got an LP. The resident couldn't hit the sweet spot in my spine. Her superior walked in, had me sit in a different position, and was in in less than 30 seconds.

That's when I found out that spinal fluid is clear. I don't know what I expected, but it was crystal clear.

Back to the resident though. I wasn't mad about her having a tough time. That's what teaching hospitals are for.

Also, the elephant/mouse experiment, if I had to guess. I wish they'd tried it with a grey or brown mouse as well as the white one. From what I understand, elephants don't have great eyesight, so a stark white thing (regardless of size) suddenly appearing might be off-putting to the "test subject".

At any rate, it was fun to watch the elephant stop in its tracks when the mouse appeared.
