Property damage? Personal injury? Someone broke a fingernail and they suffer PTSD?
People sue for accidents all the time. I imagine that the airline would have to have insurance on the flight in case something were to happen. Like, in case the plane....crashed.

That sounds reasonable. But I hope you had your ID in your pocket while you exited the plane. $5000 to deal with the DMV? Might not be enough.

Thank you for answering. I believe that I've read about similar things happening with other commercial airline crashes/mishaps. Not only did you not get to where you were going but a lot of your belongings were probably ruined as well. I'm not saying you shouldn't feel thankful to be alive at all. It's just that after walking out on that wing, getting on that ferry, walking onto terra firma and thanking all there is that you haven't been burnt to a crisp, you might still feel that the airline owes you a suitcase or two of valuables. I hope it at least covered that.

The plane crash card IS better than an ID isn't it? I live in Baltimore and the DMV can be hit or miss. One day you're in and out in less than an hour. The next you're sitting there watching your phone battery percentage go from 10%......to 5%....to 3%. You just hope they get to you before you have to start reading the stupid posters for entertainment.

Were there any lawsuits regarding the crash? I assume most everyone would be just pleased to be alive but I'm sure there would be payouts from lawsuits and settlements from the airline.
