How come when I feel a headache starting and I take medication it goes away but if I don't have medication for another hour after it starts them I'm screwed? (I've tried taking two prescription strength ibuprofen and it doesnt do anything unless I take it before the headache is in full swing.)

Also, how bad and often should I have headaches before I should consider getting prescription medication to take care of it?

Why do my headaches go away while I sleep, but my girlfriend will wake up with headaches?

How come sometimes when I'm feeling lethargic that's a sign of a headache? If I move too fast during these episodes it's like an instant headache, but if I have a nap that feeling goes away. What causes that and is there anything I can do to get around it besides medication or sleeping?
