My understanding is that they have AN internet - not THE internet.

A small distinction. But think of the internet as a series of interconnected networks. The first one is your home made up of all the computers in your house. the next is your ISP, made up of all the homes in the area, the next is the region, made up of all the ISP's in the area, and then you connect to a couple other countries, who have similar situations.

Now imagine NK is the same, except they aren't connected to any other countries. for the most part. Some universities, libraries and high-level officials in the party can obtain access to our internet - but there is a "guard" at the Uni's/Libraries. YOU cannot access the internet. You submit a request to a party rep at the location, they do the search for you, and return the information, censoring or removing anything you aren't permitted to have/know.

is easy to see why membership is growing so fast in some areas like this.

And that's the point. The money now used for aide is really just an investment. They expect many returns on that investment in the future.

Not really. They'd just remove the pickle from the burger that's been sitting there for 80 minutes...

Your definition of a 'secret menu' is a little off. The ability to make changes to an item doesn't put it on the menu. You can literally change just about anything you want on the mcdonald's menu, you just need to ask for it.

Some (mcdonalds) restaurants have a secret menu. in the sense that something is requested often enough at their location that a manager adds it to their POS. But there isn't a system/national/company wide menu of items that are secretely on the menu...
