What's the nicest "other" cars your comparing it to?

Do you miss having a backup gas or other energy system. I'm not interested in buying a Tesla, even though I love the idea of them, because I'm not willing to take on the uncertainty of complete electric charge, as my drives often entail an 85 mile drive one way. I don't understand why Tesla doesn't have a smaller battery pack, cheaper price tag, and the backup generator. It seems like an generator would be incredibly cheap, and eliminate 95% of the emissions, while retaining unlimited range using existing filling stations. Is this something that was a factor for you? Do you think that it would broaden the market for electric car buyers?

Indeed. It was a Mercedes s-class innovation. It's increasingly common now.
