Thanks, this is really good advice, whether you are an engineer or not.

My graduate research is looking at elementary students doing engineering design projects in their classrooms. Specifically, I'm studying how and why students might iterate on their designs. We know from studies on professional designing that iteration is important to producing quality design solutions, and we know from looking at elementary students in other areas that they latch onto an idea quickly and are reluctant to change. If we want kids to do engineering, or any critical thinking and problem solving, at this young of an age, we have to break the cycle traditional school sets up of having "right answers" and show kids that adult professionals fail. And in the failing, we make our ideas better.

I'll tell you my experience. We adopted our cat through a rescue shelter that works with PetsMart. My cat eats cat food you can't buy at the grocery store, so I have to get it at PetSmart as well. Every time his food is on sale, I click the button at the checkout to donate $1 to their adoption programs. I think people would consider it.

This happened to my grandfather. He got to the hospital in time and they had to cut him from breastbone to thigh to fix it, but he survived.

Thank you for what you do.

that's what sucks about working in a small town where everyone goes to school/works together

Although I will say it's a blessing when the ambulance and volunteer fire department respond to your car crash and they are people you know.
