With <10% of the Japanese population vaccinated, it's not safe. It really sucks that you've trained this hard and the situation we're in, but these games really should not be happening.

IMO that's how he won over republicans, not necessarily the general public. The Democrats were the ones who shot themselves in the foot when the time came to vote.
