Because they may see those things and realize they have information about the shooter or the crime. Even when the shooter is caught (or even dead) the police still need to conduct a thorough investigation and these details may prompt members of the public to come forward with information.

Can you talk a little about whether or not insomnia is or thought to be a genetic condition? My family is full of a few generations of very severe insomniacs (4 to 5 hours a night average). I have taken Ambien for the last 5 years and it works ok for me, but my siblings would rather not and are worried that their kids will also develop insomnia as they get older.

That's a good idea. One of the nice things about my little building is that we all know each other and talk regularly so maybe I can start a conversation with folks. Thank you.

I have more of an after the earthquake question. I live in a smaller, older (1960s) building and I have a few neighbors who are elderly or disabled. I have an earthquake kit, but is there anything I can do to prepare if they need help after a quake?
