Do you catch people staring at your estotropia often? If so, how does it make you feel?

I ask because I’ve always noticed that things like that catch my attention when I don’t mean to pay them special attention. It’s always hard to know whether you avoiding something makes someone more uncomfortable, or just noting it and not being weird about it.

You’re lovely, by the way.

So, I’m gathering that the best thing is to just be normal and neither avoid, nor go out of my way to unnecessarily acknowledge?

Not at all, I’ve always wanted to know this from someone’s perspective who has some condition that draws attention. I’m always split between just ignoring it entirely (like we all should, cuz who cares), and acknowledging it in a kind way. Something with enthusiasm, like “wow, your eye really looks different, did something happen? It looks pretty cool/wild.” Which is what I’d literally be thinking anyway, and have thought in the past. I’m always torn about whether it’s actually helpful to be open and inquisitive in an honest and kind way, or if it’s more helpful to just look past it entirely and let them be.

Thanks for answering in such detail!
