Whoo, I made it home in time! Hi Cat! If you could totally steal someone's writing style and general ability, whose would it be, if anyone?

I love The Flight of Dragons. It's easily one of the favorite animated movies from my childhood.

Fun fact, although it's credited to Peter Dickinson, the story is taken straight from Gordon Dickson's The Dragon and the George. Dickinson did write a speculative paper on how creatures as big as dragons could credibly fly and breath fire, which the movie goes into briefly, but the meat of the story is absolutely from Dickson. I didn't know that when I picked up Dickson's book years later. The moment when I started recognizing the story was a moment of shock and wonder and magic.

First of all, thank you again for the pleasure of your acquaintance and life wisdom in Magdeburg two years ago. To the extent that life is about collecting treasured memories like pearls on a necklace, that there was a jewel that little dragon me will keep hoarding with especial delight. :)

It is said it takes 10,000 hours of practice to get good at anything, which, judging by A Fine And Private Place, you put in quite early on. How much did you write before your first published work, and what kind of stuff?
