Have you encountered any floating rafts of plastic? I was on the lookout for the Great Pacific Garbage Patch when I sailed from Busan to Colombia in 2013, but I saw little to make me a believer. The French captain of our ship, the container ship Otello, said he has also seen nothing.

I know this has little to do with undersea volcanoes, but I thought I would ask some observant souls.
