Not OP, but I am a corrections deputy. They are not treated well. If other inmates find out about their charges we usually have to move them to protective custody. In my experience, S.O. inmates behave relatively well for the most part. Usually quiet and playing table games with other S.O. inmates.

Did anyone gag? I feel like I would even if it tasted fine because it would freak me out mentally.

Not OP but I am in corrections as well. All kinds. From possession to murder and everything else. It is not hard to not be nice to them because you know they are always trying to scam and manipulate. Empathy is ok, sympathy is not.

Chow is where lots of debts are paid. If a fight is gonna happen it's likely to happen during chow.
