I work as a MHT in a children's psych hospital. Have you worked with kids before? If so how different is working with adults?

Hi my dad was on the waiting list for about 2 years until he got his heart when I was about 8. He and my mom had to move to salt lake and I had to live with my uncle for that time. My dad had an LVAD and RVAD until he got his transplant. My question is what is your everyday life like waiting? Have you got any false calls yet on a heart? Have ypu had to move or anyother major changes made? Thanks for taking the time to answer questions!

Well let's say a person who was considering getting treatment at a inpatient facility saw this AMA and saw OP saying "psych wards are worse than jail" and talking negatively about the medication that could save this person's life? That could be a potential dangerous situation and this AMA only reinforces the already negative perception of mental health services.

Not OP but i also work as an MHT and the requirments were just a high school diploma/ged. But most people i work with have degrees.
