Ehh. I know etymologically speaking man was used neutrally to refer to both men and women but since then its usage has become more gendered. A lot of professions have switched to neutral terminology: policeman became police officer, fireman became fire fighter, etc. I can't think of anything for fisherman though.

Is there a gender neutral term for fisherman? It feels a little odd to refer to a woman as a fisherman and fisherwoman has a red squiggly line under it when I type it.
