RIC is an amazing facility. I've shadowed in a few of their pediatric clinics before and was impressed with not only the level of care but the compassionate staff.

Spot on. I didn't know much about my mom's illness when I was a kid and it created an insane amount of anxiety. I thought every trip to the hospital meant she was dying. She looked and felt horrible and I had no idea why or what to do. Please, anyone, learn how to talk to your kids about illnesses like these if someone in your family experiences one.

Have you had genetic testing? What's your mutation? Do you have siblings or other family members that have subsequently had testing to asses whether they're carriers?
