Politifact original article stating that Romney campaign claim that " [Mitt Romney] Says Barack Obama 'sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China' at the cost of American jobs[]" was false.

Politifact's lie of the year article.

Here is a Breitbart article discussing alleged inaccuracies with Politifact's analysis.

In the end, it looks like the statement made by Romney to a crowd indicating that Jeep was moving all production to China was false. The claim that they would start production in China was true. However, the claim that Jeep would move "all production" to China was false. The Breitbart article then goes into more detail about why Politifact should have picked other lies instead.

In the end, it looks like they were pretty fair in their analysis if you read the full article. Picking a "Lie of the Year" requires opinion and value judgments that should be separated from there fact checking working. Clearly, they are not above changing their analysis, even when it comes to democrats.
