At first I chuckled that there was a slang word for them that makes them sound like untouchables.

Then I pictured them as little gray aliens all clamoring for attention on a cam site and lost it.

Yep, I went looking to one a few years ago when I was looking to buy a new mattress, and left disgusted. After Googling for days and having absolutely ZERO luck in finding anything even remotely close to unbiased and informative, I came to my refuge, my safe space...Reddit.

And it was just as bad. The subs were basically just full of mattress salesmen, instead of knowledgeable consumers that could help point me in the right directions and keep me clear from scams and bullshit.

I think that psychologically, you're going to get a warmer reception from humans by calling a fake meat product "plant based" vs "fungi based". Too many people are going to get a knee jerk reaction to the latter term, and never even try it.
