During SOPA and PIPA there was clear, organised protest from consumer groups and tech companies, which successfully engaged a lot of non-tech followers and news outlets. This appeared to be a genuine positive when opposing those bills.

During the recent Net Neutrality debates (and also events such as the Day We Fight Back) there has not been the support of influential tech companies and we have not been as effective in making our case clearly and simply in general public media.

What do you think we can do individually and collectively to present a clear message to lawmakers, and also raise awareness and make this an issue that the non-tech population understands and can become passionate about opposing?

Edit: I'm Canadian so cannot assist by phoning US representative, but developments south of the border have a way of coming North!
