For those of you that aren't sure who I am, or more importantly who IHMC Robotics are... We are a robotics lab from Pensacola, FL. Our research focus is on dynamically balancing robots. For the last little while most of our work has been on legged robots, but we do actually have a lot of experience with developing balancing schemes for wheeled-base robots that are robust to disturbances (e.g. getting rocked in the face by another robot): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykJujckT8jU (super old video)

In terms of the overall system design, giving the robot a balance control system is going to be by far the biggest challenge.
Yeah, so y'all better give them money so we can make sure that's not an issue. Just saying. Hit that Kickstarter.
