I can sympathize... I've run about 25+ marathons and the preparation for every one of them has been fairly consuming. Having built up my excitement, the week after a race, even if I have had a good one, is often crippling and fraught with emptiness. Post-event life seems so purposeless by comparison.

I am truly envious of you getting to go out there and do something fun. Congrats!

I can't believe I missed Lady Legasus today. My daughter is going to be so sad.

Hi Rich. I am nowhere close to your level of performance but have run several marathons. One of the things holding me back is definitely what I consume and although I would probably never get to where you are in terms of diet, I find that the exotic dietary makeup of high-profile athletes is not something I can obtain easily or cheaply. In short, where do you get all this fancy food? I have bags of almonds and plenty of bananas but you can imagine that my local grocery store doesn't have everything you talk about.

The "eliteness" of Joe Flacco is a media sideshow for the talking heads to generate arguments on ESPN. He has good games... he has bad games. Trying to put a label on him is as accurate as watching a wind vane during a thunderstorm.

I was hoping this was deemed normal these days.
