Hey lady! I had ph and a double lung transplant too! Then went into chronic rejection after a few years and needed to have another lung transplant, a single this time. What drugs were you on before transplant? Did you ever go on flolan? Isn't it so amazing to wake up after surgery and not have that disease anymore?! Hope all is well!

Hi op , hope your transplant went well! Where are you being transplanted? You'll be very very sore at first and very weak (depending on how sick you were prior). Most food will probably taste like cardboard, once they clear you to eat after the swallow test. Chest tubes don't really hurt getting taken out, as long as they're not in for a super long time (under two weeks and you'll be fine). They'll do at least one bronchoscopy on you, don't worry, they numb the area and you'll most likely be asleep so you won't even feel it. The key to transplant is taking medication as prescribed, sleep, exercise and staying away from sick people. Don't be embarrassed to wear your mask. Beat of luck to you! Message me if you ever have questions or need to vent.

Better odds to have it be from the same lungs, better to do both while they're in the than doing two seperate operations. Also, CF patients require a double lung TX due to their disease

Don't forget no pomegranate or green tea either :) sushi was also my favorite and yes I miss it, but I still go out for sushi, I just get the cooked or vegetarian rolls!

It depends on the person and the situation really. The first transplant I was weaker and was a double lung transplant and heart repair. My second was only a single so surgery recovery wise, the second was much easier. Yet, my immune system is much more suppressed this time and very weak. After my first transplant, I was still very very strong and healthy, never got sick, never even got a cold (no infections, no rejections, nothing) which is unusual for someone immune suppressed. I was so healthy, I didn't even feel suppressed. Now, I get sick frequently and have to be very careful. Other people have said they have had opposite reactions,so it just depends.
