Make it so! http://www.tacobellfranchises.com/

The initial investment ($1,193,300-$2,465,600) isn't much higher than the average semester's tuition. And what would you rather tell your parents? That you earned your bachelor's in feminist literature in 7 years or that you're a successful entrepreneur/restaurateur in only 2?

Edit: Got gold for promoting taco bell. All is right with the world!

This is a huge lesson in business, especially when starting or growing. Clients don't give two shits about how you got the job done as long as it works to their specifications and meets their expectations. There's something to be said for technical superiority, but a well designed piece of software doesn't provide any more value than a poorly written one as long as they both get the job done.

It doesn't limit anything. It simply means using the right solution to meet the need. Take this OP's site for example. It may be poorly written in many aspects, but his goal isn't to get a gold star for having a well designed website infrastructure. Thst doesn't matter one bit. As long as the site looks good and loads reasonably fast for his clientele, throwing a bunch of trash up on wordpress is a good option. It probably didn't take too long, meaning that more effort can be spent on revenue generating activities. Now, if the site were supposed to be a client portal for 10,000 daily users, the approach taken would be a bad idea.

Google may be including page speed in their rankings, but I can't imagine that is a defining statistic. Relevant content is still the most important factor unless your site is virtually unusable because of performance. Also, the kinds of clients he has aren't going to just google for an ad agency and hire the one with the best rankings. Much of that business is still based on recommendations and referrals.

Don't get me wrong; there is a time and place for optimized software. It's just that there's also a time and place for quick and dirty software, and everything in between.

A slight distinction, "innocent until proven guilty" exists to put the burden of proof on the government. This means that the government can't just start imprisoning people for made up crimes. That was a bit of a problem when the king's word was above the law.
