I'm a physics graduate. I've been a full time indie game dev for 4 years. Of my uni friends:

  • One mate who went to Fermilab in Chicago to do some secret shit.

  • One went to CERN

  • One become a lecturer

  • One became a highschool teacher

  • One took a quantum physics PhD and she has also been dating Aziz Ansari for like a year lol

  • One became an accountant

  • One became a travelling hippy

  • One does something to do with like.. big data driven marketing.

  • One became an android developer working on beer apps.

I also have another mate who graduated the same year as me, but he did a PhD (I just did a BSc) and he is the coder in another indie games studio, I met him through that rather than uni.

Apparently also, STEM students who convert to law have much better prospects than humanities students who do. Actuary work is a shout. There's loads of avenues really, it's a really versatile degree, I don't really know anyone who didn't end up doing at least something they enjoy, if not their dream job.

But, hypothetically, nothing could stop an influential person from advertising for them?
