1) Do you know what happened to any of the other members of your family?

2) While you were with the SOE, if your landlady asked what you were doing to help with the war effort, what would you have said? I assume you couldn't just say it openly!

You say you wanted to experience military life...did you ever consider the Australian army as well, or was this more a kind of weird gap year project where going overseas to Finland was half the point?

Sign language is not "English with the hands". It's not English at all. Most sign languages have their own grammar, syntax, vocabulary...everything. To someone raised in a primarily signing household, English is as foreign as Japanese.

It quite literally WOULD be as though she'd had no one to speak her language with. Ever.
