Every time I see a Met Art picture of a beautiful woman with the watermark on it, I read it in my head as "Me Tart". Now I can't think of it any other way.

Any recommendations?

This has singlehandedly turned me off of watching this film.

I might see the film, but this has turned me off Reddit's "New" AMA system.

For those who aren't aware, as I am sure you are, a similar thing happened in the 2010 elections called the Tea Party. While this was not comparable in goals, it is comparable to the wanton sweeping out of politicians which you called for.

... to replace them with a different set of equally corrupt and special interest leaning politicians.

It's not enough to just change who sits in congress, it's necessary to amend the plan for government so that money counts for far, far less.... followed by a complete change of all offices in all three branches as quickly as possible.

Reddit is practicing censorship, pure and simple.

True. To me it's not surprising, maybe it is to others here.

Readers here tend to forget that reddit is a corporation (under Advance Publications) and as such their mission isn't to ensure fair, unbiased discussions and reporting... rather it's to make money by getting more people to browse this site.

So far the corporation's hands-off management of subreddits has worked to grow the site, so they haven't changed that. Makes sense... look at the recent discussions about removing upvote/downvote counters... people were upset about that small change, a bigger one would cause riots.

It's unfortunate that a discussion site like many of us want reddit to be doesn't really exist... impartial, fair, with clearly defined grievance procedures and accountability for management and moderation decisions plus transparency in operation.

Someday it will exist, but for now everyone needs to keep in mind that we're not really able to have free speech here... it's just that there's no other place to talk... for now.

Could be worse, I guess.

In the case of an economic war, the EU would certainly hurt more than the US would. However, the US is in the (for us) unusual position of producing more oil than we import for the first time in years, due to the new fracking technologies in use (which are themselves controversial from an environmental standpoint).

This plus the recognition that oil and gold prices are artificially inflated has led some to speculate that the best course of action for the US in this situation would be to bankrupt Russia by stabilizing the US dollar to rapidly cut the prices Russia gets for oil and gas. Also the US would likely provide energy subsidies to the EU, to soften the blow of losing Russian methane exports should they be cut.

If this happens, what do you see happening in the Ukraine? How will your economy be affected by such a move?
