I recently moved to Canada, and everybody here seems to call actual Indians "East Indians" and aboriginal Americans "Indians". The weird thing is that "East Indians" also lumps in people from the Middle-East. "East Indian" sounds like an outdated term for Polynesians. I don't know why I'm sharing this but I'm confused and afraid. Send help.

Edit: I was mistaken. "Natives" is used here for First Nations, not "Indians". Which kind of just makes "East Indians" even weirder.

Please come educate these Albertans, then.
