How much work did you have to do before the tests took place from an intelligence perspective?
From my limited understanding of India's nuclear tests in 1998, they tried to cover it up by working at night, shifting equipment back to its original place and covering tracks with sand so as to emulate the desert dunes.
Did you guys have to do anything like that against foreign intelligence? I'm unsure if spy satellites were that technically advanced at that time.
