Hey Seedcamp Team! Can I get your quick opinion of my latest project? I have just began development, and would love to hear your reaction to the idea.
Credit Suisse predicts that the wearable device market will reach $50 billion in 5 years, and Morgan Stanley estimates that the wearable market could reach $1.6 trillion in value over the long term. In reality, wearables have next to zero chance of attaining these lofty predictions; over a third of consumers who own a wearable device stop using it within 6 months. (1) The main culprit is that despite manufacturers’ claims that wearables are “smart devices,” most aren’t intelligent at all. The lack of meaningful insight attached to the data means it becomes just another graph to view.
Consumers don’t want to be inundated with useless information - they want helpful insight that makes them act.
Our solution is a SaaS (software as a service) that projects the future of a user's life (from birth to expected death) based on available data. Focusing on health, finances, emotions, and goals early on, our software will compile and predict (using predictive analytic algorithms) by pulling from the open API data pools of wearables, personal financial software, online bank accounts, US-based statistics, and more. It would then present ‘actionable’ insight about the user’s future in a simple dashboard. In addition, the software will automatically update these projections daily based on a user's life choices and habits with minimal user input - giving users the ability to see and control their general future in the most accurate way possible.
