Dr. Gupta, I appreciate you taking some time out of your clearly busy day to do this AMA. My question is one that pertains to your home state of Michigan, where we both graduated Novi High School.
This past year, the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled that medical marijuana patients were not permitted to use edibles or marijuana infused products under the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act. The Michigan Legislature is currently considering two bills which would patch up these holes in the law by allowing patients to purchase their medical marijuana from dispensary centers and in an edible or oil form but they are currently being stopped by the Senate Majority Leader who is opposed to the bills.
Politics aside, do you believe that medical marijuana patients should have access to their medication through edibles and provisioning centers as a fundamental right or for "health reasons" should the state continue to limit these options?

Hi Eric, thanks for doing this!
Which section of the Constitution do you believe most supports the changes you're fighting for (Full Faith and Credit, Commerce, amendment, etc)?
