The first thing I look for is professionalism. That doesn't mean you need to wear a suit to an interview for an entry-level position. It means you should be well-groomed (shaved, not just out of bed), shake my hand, offer up a resume, maintain good eye contact, answer the interview questions with confidence but not be too cocky. Be prepared for the interview. Someone you know who works at X company? Ask them about the interview process/expectations. Be flexible. Oh, also be fully available if at all possible. Nothing easier for me than looking at an application and filing it because you've requested all weekends off in retail. Think about how unfair the other employees would see that as. Answer the interview questions with thought, not just the first thing that comes to mind. Use personal experiences and be proud of those. Practice.

I'm not sure cumfarts, If it was my store my managers would hear from me, so they get rid of it ASAP.

Seriously we don't. They're a waste of space when our employees average 40+ items scanned a minute. 20+ people is a bit excessive and sounds a little exaggerated. Typically, and based off of company policy, our store associates are instructed to open a line if there are more than two people past the end of the checklane. So I apologize if that didn't happen. Do you shop at ALDI in the US?

Yes. A lot of our private labels are made by the same companies who make the name brands you know from other grocery stores. We just require that that same company makes a label specifically for us.
Example- our private label Prairie Farms milk comes from Deans.
