You're probably right to tune it out. Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The world could be a much fairer place, but those with wealth and power are happy to preserve and extend the system that benefits them. There's not much any of us can do on an individual level. It would require mass action for anything to truly change, but most people are happy with the relative convenience of modern life, with materialism and individualism being pushed by corporations.

Try to focus on doing things that you enjoy and occupy your attention with those things and spending time with people that you enjoy. You seem to already have grasped this. Best of luck with your endeavours.
