Why when I ask for ketchup do you guys always act like I'm stealing from your own personal stash?

Does snow block these sensors? I've been at a light before on a snowy night (unplowed roads) and the light will never turn green. I just wait for no cars and go through red. Once I caught myself waiting for 5 mins once and couldn't back up to go in the right turn lane due to a car behind me.
