Not wanting to sound stupid, but you just mean that Earth had a lot of craters as well (before they were recycled)? Not that every crater on the moon had an exact counterpoint on Earth (which doesn't seem too likely)?
And on the off-chance that you really meant it that way, how did that happen?

Would it be difficult to set up telescopes on the moon?
It seems to me like you could save yourself a lot of earth-related atmospheric visual troubles.
What are the limitations/why isn't it done?
