Closely observe the writing and speaking styles of the most respected people around you and see if you can emulate them (another option is to watch business TV like CNBC or Bloomberg, or listen to business podcasts to see how professionals speak); pay attention to their grammar, vocabulary, intonation, and pace.

Do you have any advice for women on this? Who are some charismatic, confident, well-spoken women we can emulate? I'm Asian American woman, and I'm often thought to be too "Asian", awkward, and backwards due to my shyness and social anxiety. I'm definitely held back in networking, getting the jobs I deserve, and getting respect in the workplace because of these stigmas and stereotypes.
