I wasn't even transphobic before, and I still don't care about them in my bathrooms, but now I have a fear of them in the kitchen!

I would speak to a medical professional. An emotional support animal (ESA, different than a service animal) may help. I'm far from an expert, but a service animal would have to perform specific tasks for you and go through rigorous training to the point that you would need them to be there and they can behave well. I obviously don't know if your situation would qualify for a service animal, but I'm fairly certain you could get a mental health professional to sign off on an ESA.

Again, an ESA is different than a full blown service animal like Adele or seeing eye dogs, and has much less rights since they aren't trained and vetted in the same ways, but speaking with a professional is the only way to accurately find out how it would apply to your specific situation.

I'm happy to hear that you're making changes and hope you are able to get support to help you deal with those issues! I wish you the best.
