Has anyone rebuilt Marion Ravenwood’s bar?

Thanks for pointing that out. The phrase “we are pregnant” always bothered me. “We are expecting a baby” but “She is pregnant.”

This example right here demonstrates how awkward it is.

Yeah, they'll simply be programmed to do the least damage and keep as many options open as possible. Any harm that could happen regularly might require infrastructure changes. It doesn't have to jump to AI ethics.

Nobody has ever given a good example of a real-world trolly problem.

People like to envision an episode of Black Mirror where a car has to choose between driving off a cliff (killing the driver) or running over three children by calculating some kind of "social value score" in real-time. That would be orders of magnitude more difficult than just driving slower on narrow roads with limited visibility near cliffs.

I’m not sure if you’re speaking more broadly or in direct response to me, but I agree. When I say “do least damage” I mean purely on a physics/free space/path finding level. Simply: Always look for the optimal path that doesn’t hit anything. If it has to hit something, find the path (including braking) that hits something with the least kinetic energy. It doesn’t have to be any more complicated than that.

I would argue any good FSD solution should always have at least one viable backup path at all times.
