Gastroparesis can be idiopathic with no known trigger, disease or cause to trace it back to. Sometimes the nerve in charge of emptying one's stomach just....stops working properly. This is what happened to me. I was diagnosed 2 and a half years ago with GP and they still have no idea what possibly could have caused it.
