You realize that millions of children have been born and raised in the rainforests before cities became "cool". Also with modern medicine these kids are truly living the best of both worlds. My kid yearns for the outdoors (NYC) and whenever we do trips to national parks he just lights up and I can see the change in mood. I feel so guilty

Seriously if you want to become an astronaut then the airforce or navy route is the "easiest" but you will be disqualified from flight if anyone other than military docs do the PRK.

We are city slickers with the love for outdoors and take our toddler in the backpacks on long hikes in national parks. Now my kid is older and can communicate but especially at the nine month mark if we delayed a meal because we were in a not so convenient area, he would go insane crying like a banshee suddenly refusing to eat even though he was hungry. I guess how do you deal with tantrums when in the jungle away from base camp?
